The process of transforming a subject or other visual elements into photographic images continues to compel and challenge me. Over the years, that process has led me from merely capturing a moment in time, to actually understanding an experimental process. Photography fills me with a sense of harmony and anticipation, and has proven to be a meditative way for me to translate my visual ideas into a physical reality.
I photograph both what I see and what I feel—focusing on the sensation and emotion of my experience. I work authentically, using both traditional and unusual digital techniques, while letting the uncertain nature of photography free my busy mind. My photographs are a success when they are able to convey a moment or perception of where I am, as well as what I am seeing.
