My father was a photographer 60 years ago. He died when I was 13. So, my photography started as a way to for me to connect with him, to crawl into his head and experience the same frustration and joy of being behind the camera, processing film and making prints in a darkroom.
When people look at my work, I hope they see and feel some of the same amusement, intimacy, or beauty that I do. If it can muster up a laugh or a tilt of the head, I've done a good job.
I can't say that my work will ever focus on landscapes or people or finger puppets. There's just too much in this world to experience and capture on film. And as photography has continued to evolve since my father's time, I'm all for trying different technologies, equipment, and subject matter.
I simply hope to share some of what I see... think... do... in my life and what I will ultimately leave behind.
